Book 3 in the series. Lieutenant Lord Ramage is summoned to the Admiralty, where the First Lord gives him command of the brig 'Triton' and three sealed dispatches addressed to the admirals off Brest and Cadiz and in the Caribbean. But like the rest of the Navy, 'Triton’s' crew has mutinied and Ramage is caught between his duty and his sympathy for some of the mutineer’s complaints.
